Varieties of Online Roulette

[ English ]

As many betting house-wise gamblers already realize, there are two main types of online roulette. I plan on covering several of the variances between the 2 variants of this popular gambling den game and in doing so, helping you, the gambler, choose which game suits you greatest.

The first edition of web based roulette I would like to discuss is American Roulette. The American roulette wheel has the numbers zero, 00, and numbers from 1 to 36. Due to the additional number present in American roulette, hobbyists may possibly be better advised to keep to European roulette because of the somewhat better odds.

Secondly, we have European roulette (also identified as French roulette). As opposed to its American counterpart, it has all the same numbers except for the "00" that the American model has. This, as was said previously, provides European roulette slightly greater odds than American roulette.

One of the subtler variances between the two roulette games is that in American roulette, players receive various color chips for easier differentiation of wagers, while in European, gamblers generally receive the same colour chips, requiring the individual gamblers to have to be alert! Also, European dealers gather up the chips with rather nice-looking rakes, whilst American croupiers tend to be much more inclined towards using their hands.

There is a rule in European roulette called "En Prison". This allows the bettor, if the zero is hit, to either surrender one half of their outside wagers or to keep them for the next game. This rule drops the house advantage even lower, lowering it to 1.352 rather than the 5.26 available in the American game, thus making the European game a little bit more tempting.

At the end of the day, it’s up to the player to determine regardless of whether he or she wants to go for the more secure wager with European Roulette or if he / she favors the excitement of the more high-risk American Roulette…
